With an office in Cheltenham, we are a popular independent firm of Chartered Accountants, business advisers and tax specialists.
We offer professional advice and services to a variety of clients located throughout the South West.
Our client base is varied and ranges from personal clients looking to protect their wealth, through to large companies looking for tax and accountancy advice. Our clients are from diverse industry sectors and our wealth of knowledge covers many different areas.
Each client has a dedicated client manager and director to deal with. Our managers develop long term relationships with clients.

Anthea graduated from Southampton in 2001 before becoming ACCA qualified in 2004. She joined Mitchells in 2007 as a client manager before becoming a director of the practice in 2013. Anthea’s portfolio includes a wide variety of clients from small personal tax clients to medium sized corporate entities, providing accountancy and taxation services.
Outside of work Anthea enjoys spending time with her daughter, swimming and socialising with friends and family.
Sam became ACA qualified in 2008 and has years of accountancy practice experience in the local area.
Sam is a director of Mitchells and assisted with the set up and growth of the Mitchells cloud accounting business - Cirrus Cloud Accounting. This offers clients the choice in how they manage their business finances, and regularly produce accurate management reports to review business performance, rather than just yearend compliance. Sam very much enjoys getting to know her individual client businesses, having discussions throughout the year to tax plan and help their business grow, and also advising individuals on all aspects of their taxation needs.
Outside of work Sam enjoys socialising with family and friends and walks along the coast.
Nick qualified with KPMG, and gained invaluable post-qualification experience while working abroad for 2 years. Subsequently he was Deputy Finance Director at Saatchi & Saatchi Advertising Limited where he was responsible for a number of operating subsidiaries.
Nick set up Mitchells in 1989 and combines his practice work with the role of Financial Director at 2 recruitment companies.
Nick now works as a Consultant for Mitchells
Suzi started working in practice in 2008 focusing solely on payroll since 2012 with the introduction of RTI & AE. She holds AAT payroll certificates & ICB Payroll Diploma. Out of work she looks after her young son & horse and enjoys running & circuit training' (and lots of chocolate!!!).
Anna joined Mitchells in 2012 as Receptionist/Secretary. She is the first point of contact for our clients. Her role has evolved over the years, and she now assists in the smooth running of the office, client onboarding, Company Secretarial filings and administration.
In her spare time, she loves gardening and collecting houseplants. She has also discovered cruise life and her holidays are spent on a ship somewhere in the middle of the ocean or in the Norwegian Fjords.
Geraldine ran several catering businesses for 20 years before having her children and changing into the career of accountancy. She now has the responsibility of preparing VAT returns, Management Accounts, year end and compliance and tax at Mitchells.
With a keen interest in history, Geraldine is a Director and Treasurer of Tewkesbury Medieval Festival, a Trustee of the Tewkesbury Battlefield Society and Treasurer of Tewkesbury Sea Cadets. She spends many weekends camping at music festivals with two teenage children.
Leanne was born in Melbourne, Australia and immigrated to the UK with her husband and 2 sons in October 2008, settling in the Cotswolds.
With many years of secretarial and admin experience she went back to college in 2014/15 to gain her AAT Level 2 & 3 qualifications.
She has worked as a freelance bookkeeper, along with accounts roles, and is an Associate Member of the Institute of Certified Bookkeepers.
Out of work, Leanne enjoys walks with their dog around the Cotswolds, socialising with friends and family and visits to Budleigh Salterton, East Devon, whenever she can.
Laura graduated from Brighton University in 2019, and became ACCA qualified in 2022.
Having over 10 years’ experience in practice and industry, Laura is responsible for preparing VAT returns, Management Accounts, Statutory Accounts, Corporation Tax Returns, Personal Tax Returns and Company Secretarial matters for a range of clients.
Outside of work Laura enjoys going to the cinema, eating out, going for walks and spending time with friends and family.
Victoria started studying AAT and has been working in accountancy practice for over 20 years.
Over this time, she has accumulated a wealth of financial administration, accounts, tax, and payroll knowledge that aids her role as Payroll Manger here at Mitchells perfectly.
Outside of work Victoria is dedicated to her young family, keeping fit and healthy and living life to the fullest in every moment possible.
Her favourite things are music, driving, sports, watching sports and is also breaking out into the world of mindfulness and meditation.
Jo became ACCA qualified in 2018 and has worked in practice for over 20 years, originally in Cornwall before moving to Cheltenham in 2021.
Jo looks after a varied portfolio of clients ranging from small personal tax clients to medium sized corporate clients. She looks after their VAT returns, management and year end accounts and tax work.
Outside of work Jo is a listening volunteer for Samaritans. She enjoys dance fitness and exercise classes at her local gym.
Having lived in Cornwall for over 40 years, Jo is now enjoying the opportunity to see comedy shows and musicals both locally and in the West End.
Bridie lived and worked in Ireland for a number of years. She became qualified as a CPA in 2009, and has been working in accountancy practices ever since.
She is responsible for the bookkeeping and VAT returns for a range of clients.
Out of work Bridie enjoys walking, visiting the theatre (especially to see the Whodunnits) and socialising with friends and family.
