With an office in Cheltenham, we are a popular independent firm of Chartered Accountants, business advisers and tax specialists.

Anthea graduated from Southampton in 2001 before becoming ACCA qualified in 2004. She joined Mitchells in 2007 as a client manager before becoming a director of the practice in 2013. Anthea’s portfolio includes a wide variety of clients from small personal tax clients to medium sized corporate entities, providing accountancy and taxation services.
Outside of work Anthea enjoys spending time with her daughter, swimming and socialising with friends and family.
Sam became ACA qualified in 2008 and has 10 years accountancy practice experience in the local area.
Sam is a director of Mitchells and assisted with the set up and growth of the Mitchells cloud accounting business, Cirrus Cloud Accounting. This offers clients the choice of how they manage their business finances and produce accurate management reports regularly to review business performance rather than just year end compliance.
Outside of work Sam enjoys socialising with friends, walks and the gym.
Nick qualified with KPMG, and gained invaluable post-qualification experience while working abroad for 2 years. Subsequently he was Deputy Finance Director at Saatchi & Saatchi Advertising Limited where he was responsible for a number of operating subsidiaries.
Nick set up Mitchells in 1989 and combines his practice work with the role of Financial Director at 2 recruitment companies.
Nick now works as a Consultant for Mitchells
Suzi started working in practice in 2008 focusing solely on payroll since 2012 with the introduction of RTI & AE. She holds AAT payroll certificates & ICB Payroll Diploma. Out of work she looks after her young son & horse and enjoys running & circuit training' (and lots of chocolate!!!).
Fiona joined us in December 2017, having used and loved working with Xero in her previous job. Outside of work she can be found walking her dogs, riding horses and looking after her teenage daughters.
Anna joined Mitchells in 2012 as a part-time Receptionist/Secretary. She now works full-time and her role has evolved to include more office administration and taking care of the Company Secretarial filing for our clients as well as organising staff events and Secret Santa! Both her children are just about to start University which will free up more of her social time which she intends to spend in the local!
Geraldine ran several catering businesses for 20 years before having her children and changing into the career of accountancy. She now has the responsibility of preparing VAT returns, Management Accounts, year end and compliance and tax at Mitchells.
With a keen interest in history, Geraldine is a Director and Treasurer of Tewkesbury Medieval Festival, a Trustee of the Tewkesbury Battlefield Society and Treasurer of Tewkesbury Sea Cadets. She spends many weekends camping at music festivals with two teenage children.
Tom joined Mitchells in June 2021 as a payroll manager, having 13 years’ experience in various payroll environments including in-house and accountancy practice. Tom’s background in payroll processing includes manufacturing, domiciliary care and information technology sectors. Tom’s interest in payroll was sparked by 6 years with HMRC from 2001 until 2007.
Tom has experience with payroll processes including Real Time Information, Pension administration, and resolving issues when the occasional error occurs with HMRC. In addition, he has provided guidance and support to individuals regarding PAYE tax enquiries and continues to do so.
Tom believes in transparency and providing a high level of service and support to our payroll clients.
Outside of work, Tom is very family oriented and enjoys spending time with his teenage daughter – taking day trips and seeking out new places to visit within the UK.
Michelle joined Mitchells in September 2020 as a part time Payroll Manager. She has 30 years of knowledge in HR and Payroll for the public sector which thankfully has been transferrable to the private sector - from processing Directors’/Employees’ payrolls to CIS payments including the submission of information to HMRC and pension providers.
Michelle has a kind and professional manner and is customer focused. She is always happy to help and enjoys a challenge to resolve any issues that may occur.
Outside work Michelle loves to spend time with her husband and his guide dog Jonny (a cheeky and lovable character), walking rain or shine, and loves listening to the morning chorus.
Jo joined Mitchells in April 2021. She became ACCA qualified in 2007 and has over 20 years’ experience in practice, working in the local Cheltenham area.
Jo has a varied role and enjoys a challenge! She prides herself in making good strong relationships with clients and colleagues. She has extensive knowledge of cloud accounting and enjoys training clients to use this efficiently to maximise their business performance, as well as advising on all taxation and accounting matters.
In her spare time, Jo is busy with her 2 teenage boys and escaping with her Cocker Spaniel, Daphne, for some peaceful walks, if it’s not raining!
Dan joined us in the summer of 2022 having previously worked in a small accountancy practice. He is now working on building his bookkeeping knowledge and works with clients using Sage and Xero.
In his own time, you can find him watching live music or going to rock and metal festivals.
